The Annual Cemetery Membership Meeting is held on the first Saturday in May at noon and is followed by a potluck lunch.  The 2024 meeting was held on May 4th.   This year, a dedication of the Texas Historic marker for Georges Creek Cemetery was included in the program.

Members interested in having family reunions at the cemetery tabernacle or at George’s Creek Church, please send an email to board@georgescreekcemetery.org so we can mark the calendar.

Established in 1850, many early settlers from the local area are buried here.  The tabernacle was built in 1909 for summer worship, funerals and community gatherings. Many big revivals and camp meetings were held.  Veterans of the Texas Revolution and other wars since are buried here, some in unmarked graves known only to God.

The George’s Creek Cemetery Association is a member owned, 501(c)(13) nonprofit organization established to preserve the history of our local community.

To qualify to be buried at the George’s Creek Cemetery, you must be a member of the Georges Creek Cemetery Association. Association membership is open to any person who is a direct descendant or spouse of a direct descendant of an individual buried in the cemetery. Adopted and stepchildren are considered the same as natural born children.

The Association is managed by an elected board of trustees that meet quarterly to oversee the use of donations that go directly to the maintenance and beautification of the cemetery.
