Thomas James Mullen was born on July 18, 1909 in Nemo, Texas to James Wiley Mullen and Maude Erie (Hammill) Mullen. He grew up and went to school in the Nemo area. He married Hazel Vesta Collins on December 23rd 1933. They had 3 children, Betty Joyce, Gary Wayne and Bill Collins. Tobe worked as a farmer in Nemo before going to work for Santa Fe Railroad in Cleburne, Texas in 1945. He was a member of the New Prospect church in Nemo for many years.
He was survived by his wife, Hazel, daughter Betty and husband Lowell Orr, son Gary and wife Linda, son Bill and wife Ann, and 7 grandchildren: Cynthia Jean Orr, Pamela Joyce Orr, Gary Michael Mullen, Ricky Wayne Mullen, Marsha Gayle Mullen, Lisa and Jason Portwood.
