Anita Cheek Curtis-Piper, 85, of Granbury, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Ridgecrest Retirement Center in Waco.
Anita was born in Kopperl, Texas on November 21, 1934 to James Arlie Cheek and Sarah Ellen “Essie” Hewlett Cheek. She was active in The Sons of Herman Lodge and the VFW. She was an avid bowler. Anita and her sister, Eleanor, traveled all over the United States competing in Women’s National Bowling Tournaments.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eleanor Hubbard; and her husbands, Robert “Bob” Curtis and James “Jim” Piper.
Anita was survived by her niece, Cindy Wylie and husband, Scott of Hermitage, Tennessee; nephews, Jim Hanna and wife, Nancy, Jeff Hanna and wife, Pat and Richard Hanna and wife, Cara all of China Spring. She was also survived by eight great-nephews and nieces; 16 great-great-nephews and nieces; and one great-great-great nephew.
