She was known as Fran, “The Hat Lady”, McPherson. Born October 13, 1932 in Portales, New Mexico to Almer “Big Boy” Nelson and Ida Mae Roberts Nelson.
Anyone who knew Fran, loved Fran. She was a bright spirit that filled every room she entered bringing joy, style, grace, and laughter. Fran is remembered for her meet and greet personality, her one-of-a-kind style, her love of music, and her unconditional love for her family. Fran will be remembered by those she has left behind every time a hymn is played on a piano or organ, every time we put on a pair of boots, or if we decide to add a touch more make-up, and every time we hear “Because He Lived”. Fran would want everyone to know she believed in Jesus Christ and therefore she is now spending eternity in Heaven made whole and as beautiful as ever.
Fran loved the Lord dearly and she called herself the “Meet and Greet Lady”. She was a member of the Red Hat Club; a member of the Senior Circle and she was a host of the Healthy Women’s Clinic. Fran loved crafting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Ambers McPherson, her son, Bobby Glenn McPherson and by four sisters, Eunice, Onedia, Betty and Gloria.
She was survived by her son, Tony McPherson; grandchildren, Scott McPherson, Tiffany Draper (Lance), Dustin McPherson, Brandt McPherson, Cody McPherson; great-grandchildren, Austyn Ables and Baylee Ables; great-great-granddaughter, Ava Ables; numerous wonderful nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
