Adrel Lorene Young was born on April 6, 1922 in Somervell County to Walter and Ida Whitt Masters. She was their fourth child of nine.  Adrel loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was talented in many areas from sewing to oil painting to making jewelry to gardening. She had an inquisitive soul and loved to read and travel. Her travels included trips to Europe and the Holy Land. Coming from a musical family, she inherited a love of music, especially old country gospels. Even when moved into assisted living, the one possession she insisted on keeping was her small organ. When she could no longer play, she would ask her daughters and daughter-in-law to play hymns for her. When her illness robbed her of the ability to move unassisted, she quickly adapted to the computer staying in touch with family and friends on facebook. Her mind was quick and she learned new things easily. She was living at Chisholm Trail Estates in Keene where she was known as “Miss Hollywood”. She always had her makeup on and an infectious smile for all.  Survivors include her son, Hugh W. Ward and wife Irma; three daughters, Georgeann Allen and husband Wes, Millie McKelvy and husband Dan, and Debbie Mackey and husband Butch; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Loree Meador and Alma Anderson; brother, Raymond Masters; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Young; first husband, L.G. Ward; three brothers, Hubert, Wayne and Wilbert; and two sisters, Billie and Lily.
