Ruth was born October 12, 1937, in Liberty, Oklahoma to Henry and Mildred Poole Nichols. She married Bill Mullen on December 30, 1980 in Glen Rose. Ruth was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Nemo and lived most of her life in Glen Rose. She was a school teacher for 36 years. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Sandra Cargile. She was survived by children, Deborah and husband Jack Phipps, Charlotte and husband Lee March, Lyndol Shelnutt and wife Carisa, Kim Howard; grandchildren, Ross and Leighan James, Deidre and Brian Freeman, Kaye and Jeff Rhodes, Travis Phipps, Jeremy and Alisha Crouch, Aiden and T.J. Trotter, Michael Marsh, Brandon Marsh, Brook and Dusty McElroy, Lawren Harrison, Aaron Ehlert, Krystal and Chad Railsback; 20 great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous students and honorary grandchildren.
