Marie Barnard was born May 3, 1913, in Somervell County. She was raised and grew up in Glen Rose, Somervell County, and lived in the Acton area for 40 years. She married Marlie E. Barnard, June 26, 1933. She was a cook who retired from Hood General Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband. She was survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Sammie Barnard of Nemo; sister Hazel Lalone of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Ken Barnard of Nemo and Carrie Barnard of Waco; and great-grandchildren D.J. Boyd, Lauren Barnard and Sam Barnard, all of Nemo.
