Roxie was born on April 24, 1915 in the Georges Creek community in Somervell County. Her parents were John Douglas and Nancy Murphy Love. She married Walter L. Cheek on November 25, 1933. She was a homemaker. She was a resident of Granbury from 1980 and a former resident of Cleburne. She was a member of Glenview Church of Christ. SHe was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Cheek; one son, Dean Cheek; one granddaughter, Linda Barrett; three sisters and two brothers. She was survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Matthews and husband James of Godley, Wanda Waggoner and husband Travis of Fort Worth, and Janice Griffin and husband Dan of Granbury; one sister, Martha Shackelford of Rainbow; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
