Finis “Doc” L. Myres was born December 21, 1916 in George’s Creek,Texas to Morris and Willie Myres. Mr. Myres was a truck driver and a member of First United Methodist Church of Alvarado. He was a member of Teamsters #745, member of Star Promenaders Square Dance Club, and Georges Creek Cemetery Association. He was a bouncer for Jack Ruby who shot Lee Harvey Oswald. He served as a trustee for the George’s Creek Cemetery Association in 1979.
Finis “Doc” L. Myres was survived by daughters; Anita Bowen and husband, Larry, of Heath, Texas,
Jeannette Roberts of Terrell, Texas, and Paula Glass and husband, Bob, of Granbury, Texas. Ten grandchildren and 34 great and great great grandchildren.
