Lawrence Callie Nickell had a twin brother, Clarence. They were born to Jeremiah Marr Nickell and Isabella “Belle” Atchinson Nickell. He married Ellen “Elna” Elizabeth Simms Nickell, my paternal great-aunt, on Apr 27, 1902 in Johnson Co. TX. She was the 1st daughter and the 1st child of Jacob Milton Simms and Abigail McBride Piles Simms. There were no children to this union. Elna died in 1930 and is buried in Shamrock, TX, Wheeler Co. Shamrock Cemetery. Lawrence later married a much younger woman named Lorene Forsythe.
