Henry Sam Orr, 72, a native of Somervell County and former local businessman, died Tuesday, November 24th, 1981 at Hico hospital. He had been in declining health for some time. Orr formerly operated a dry cleaning and laundry business in Glen Rose and has been involved in farming and stock raising for many years. He was an ordained deacon of the Georges Creek Baptist Church. Orr was born on March 27, 1909 at Georges Creek, a son of James and Grace Ellen Orr. He was married to Lovenia Armstrong on September 9, 1930, in Johnson County. Sam Orr served as a trustee for the Georges Creek Cemetery Association starting in 1979. He was survived by his wife, Lovenia, of Glen Rose; three sons, Lowell Sammy Orr of Aledo, Bill Gaston Orr of Glen Rose and Ray O’Daniel Orr of Euless; and daughter, Mrs. Sandy Sue Orr Hardage of Colleyville; one brother, Dick Orr of Glen Rose; two sisters, Jewell Norton of Georges Creek and Zelma Vinson of Cleburne; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
