Francis Allen Russell and his twin brother, James Monroe, were born on October 15, 1884, in Nemo, Texas to Solomon Russell and Julie Seaward Russell. His sister, Viola was born September 7, 1888 in Mississippi when Francis was 3 years old. He married Lula Elizabeth Butler and had 4 children. His son, Elvin Francis “Buck” was born on February 3, 1907, in Nemo, Texas, daughter Vida was born on September 8, 1909, daughter Lula Inez was born on February 18, 1911, daughter Darrah Mae was born on July 22, 1911. Lula Elizabeth passed away on October 17, 1913 at the age of 26. He then married Lillian Elizabeth Bowen in 1917 when he was 33 years old and they had son James Monroe on August 29, 1919 in Nemo, Texas, an infant son was born on December 27, 1924 and died on December 31, 1924. Francis died on June 4, 1959 in Somervell, County, Texas at the age of 74.
