Nina Jean Swink, was born on March 24, 1935, in Shamrock, Texas and was raised in Somervell County and she attended school in Glen Rose. Nina graduated as Valedictorian of her Senior Class and then went on to college at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas where she graduated with a degree in language arts. Nina then went on to teach preschool and first grade in Pringle, TX., Stinnett, TX. and Glen Rose, TX. She was very active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and she served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary from 2002-2003.

Nina enjoyed gardening, which she learned from her parents, and she canned most of the vegetables that she grew. She was a devout Christian, and for many years was a member of Glenview Church of Christ in Glen Rose.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Muriel and Charlie Marquis; her children, Larry and Darla Mimms; her brothers, Curtis and John Marquis; great-grandson, Tanner Resecker, and her grandson, Garrett Linch.

She was survived by her daughter, Dana Linch and her husband Mike; granddaughter Ashley Resecker; great-granddaughter Scout, great-grandson Luke; sisters-in-laws, Carole Gene Marquis and Saundra Marquis, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members.
