Joan  “Granny Red” Orr, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Glen Rose, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, morning, January 12, 2025, at home with her in Glen Rose.

Joan was born on January 29, 1936, in Keller, Texas to Roy and Mary J. Stewart. She lived a life marked by faith, family, friendship and unmistakable style. Joan was a proud matriarch of a remarkable five generation family! A graduate of Keller High School, Joan was deeply engaged in the Glen Rose community. Known as a true social butterfly, she had a gift for connections and never met a stranger. Joan’s favorite color was Royal Blue in addition to the color red. She loved both ladybugs and dragonflies, in her garden club she was known by many as the undisputed “fashionista of Glen Rose!” She always dressed with flair and confidence. She especially enjoyed visits to the Storybook Café and, most of all, time spent surrounded by her family. Joan’s warmth, joy, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and faith will live on through the many generations she left behind.

Joan is lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren as well as many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husbands, Kermit L. Jackson, Jr. and Bill G. Orr and by her daughter, Starla Jackson and by her sister, Charlene Jackson.
