Kenneth Wayne McClintock was born on April 11, 1945 in Henderson, Texas. He graduated from Crozier Tech in Dallas, Texas in 1964. He met Sheryl Hughes in April 1965 and they were married on November 20, 1965. They have been married for almost 53 years and have three daughters and six grandchildren. Kenneth was a member of the Army reserves and served for 6 years in the reserves and completed 6 months of Active Duty while stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas and Fort Gordan in Augusta, Georgia.
Kenneth and Sheryl bought their first home in Irving, Texas in 1967 and have lived there for the last 50 years. After completing high school, Kenneth began working at Central Freight Lines. He drove a bicycle delivering mail on the docks before moving up to driver. He drove a truck for Central for 49 years and later retired from Saia freight company in 2013. Kenneth and Sheryl have been active members of Plymouth Park Baptist Church for the last 42 years and taught Sunday School together in the preschool department for many years.
Kenneth always enjoyed watching football and especially his Dallas Cowboys. He was a proud Pops! He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many sports and band activities. He was a big Elvis fan and enjoyed gospel music. His favorite thing, however; was spending time with family at Lake Ouachita in Arkansas each summer for the last 45 years.
Kenneth was a humble man who was loved and admired by all who knew him. Ken was known for helping others and always led by example. He went to be with his Lord on September 19, 2018 and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his home.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Helen Louise Mangham; father: Rodney Clarence McClintock; Mother-in-law: Hazel Louise Kinley; father-in-law: Cecil Andrew Hughes; grandson: Joshua Martin Dowd; nephew: Jamie Lynn McClintock and his cousin and lifelong buddy, James Roy McCall.
He is survived by his wife: Sheryl Lynn McClintock; daughter: Sherry Dowd and husband Martin of Valley View; daughter: Shelly Wilson and husband Larry of Flower Mound; daughter: Jennie Petrasic and husband Steve of Little Elm; and his six grandchildren: Taylor and Jordan Dowd, Coen and Cade Wilson, and Reagan and Haleigh Petrasic. Brother: Rodney Lynn McClintock and wife Susan; brother: Preston Arden Jemmott and wife Liz.
