Jim was born in Cleburne, Texas on a snowy day March 30, 1937. He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1955, Abilene Christian University in 1959, and Southern Methodist University in 1974. He spent six years in the Army Reserves and working for GMAC immediately after graduating college. In 1968, Jim moved back to Cleburne and spent the next 13 years in banking – at First National Bank of Cleburne. Jim left the banking business and became general manager of Bill Johnson Motors and later general manager of Forrest Chevrolet-Cadillac. Jim was an avid Cleburne ISD athletic fan and attending games was one of his greatest joys.
He was proceeded in death by his loving wife and soul mate, Debra Joan Anderson Woodard, his father Frank Woodard and his mother Earline McPherson Woodard. Jim was survived by his three daughters Kim Woodard Holmes, Kelly Woodard Bryant, Brooke Fisher Morales and her husband, Yonel, and son Brent Fisher. He was also survived by his four grandsons, Jeffrey Klump and his wife, Callie, of Arlington, Blake Bryant and his wife, Shelby of Weatherford, and Ian Morales and Vincent Morales of Buda; His five grand daughters, Meagan Bryant Whitehead and her husband David of Cleburne, Taylor Klump of Joshua, Erika Klump of College Station, Charlie Holmes of College Station and Vivian Morales of Buda; and four great-grandchildren.
