Dorothy was born Jan. 16, 1925, in the Mitchell Bend community, located on the Brazos River, to James and Vera Payne. She graduated from Glen Rose High School and was a longtime resident of Fort Worth and Arlington. Dorothy owned and operated Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios for 30 years. Her last years were spent at Town Village Retirement Community, where she enjoyed many friendships. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Swallow, in 1996.
Survivors: Daughters, Donna Keith Chavez and husband, Cesar, and Denise Dillow and husband, John, both of Arlington; sisters, Peggie Seale and husband, Lacy, and Beverly Norman and husband, Jay; brother, Richard Payne and wife, Rita; and grandchildren, Kara Keith Prendergast and husband, Nick, Cleddie Keith, Jesse, Clay and Katie Dillow.
