Coonrod, Ronald Judson

Ronald was born on August 26, 1943, in Dallas, Texas. He was the only child born to the late Willard and Dorothy Coonrod. Ronald was a 1960 graduate of Arlington High School. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force. His 20 year career included action in Korea and Vietnam where he worked on the B-52 Bomber. Ronald obtained the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree at Texas State University. Ronald then went to work for Vought and later Lockheed Martin until 2016 as an engineer in aerospace. Ronald married Nelda McPherson Churchill on August 17, 1990. Still later, he enjoyed working on his ranch near Acton, Texas – particularly working with tractors and cattle. He also had a passion for racing and working on cars. Ronald and his wife were members of the Granbury Church of Christ. He will affectionately be remembered for his character and integrity.

Ronald was survived by his wife Nelda of 33 years; his children, Ronda and husband Mike August and Judson Coonrod; his step-daughter, Mallisa and husband Al Rivette, daughter-in-law Julie Churchill, grandchildren, Justin Rivette, Scott, James and Brandon Sereika, Edwin Churchill, Colman, Caden, and Anna Katherine August; and by several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his stepson John Churchill and by his grandparents Arlis and Ninnie Purselley and Willard and Wilma Coonrod.
